Joseph Doran, B.Eng
Joseph’s diverse background in engineering and education has given him a unique insight into the needs
of a city’s infrastructure.
Before studying for his Bachelor’s of Engineering at Durham University, Joseph enrolled in the “Year in
Industry” program, joining the sewerage design team for a water company in the midlands of the UK,
protecting their water network assets from flooding. After graduating, he moved to Japan and worked
as an English language trainer and counselor for automotive engineers and professionals and earned a
great appreciation for punctual high-speed public transit. Joseph’s return to engineering saw him
working as an acoustics consultant in the GTA, preparing environmental noise studies and providing
architectural acoustic design services. He is currently working towards his registration with the
Professional Engineers of Ontario and looks forward to growing the environmental branch of Trans-Plan.
Outside of the office, Joseph enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, visiting many different countries and
cooking up the vegetables he grows in his garden.
