Trans-Plan uses and develops noise impact applications that efficiently predict and quantify the levels of vibration and acoustic noise that we feel. We assess a variety of sources, including road, rail and air transportation, as well as industrial developments and mechanical equipment. For future residential developments, a noise impact assessment shows the predicted noise from transportation and industrial sources and recommends mitigation measures through architectural upgrades and sound barrier installations.
For industrial developments, a noise impact study incorporates the measurement of sound levels at the source, as well as manufacturers’ sound data and predicted levels to produce a noise map of the site to compare propagated sound levels against guideline requirements. Any excess will determine the mitigation solutions required – from silencers, to enclosures, to barriers.
