Life in close proximity to transportation services and other noise-producing developments requires creative solutions to maintain a suitable acoustic environment for all concerned.
Trans-Plan uses and develops noise impact applications that efficiently predict and quantify the levels of vibration and acoustic noise that we feel. We assess a variety of sources, including road, rail and air transportation, as well as industrial developments and mechanical equipment. The data, analysis and solutions we provide then help municipalities, architects, planners and other sectors in their noise impact assessment planning.
For future residential developments, a noise impact assessment shows the predicted noise from transportation and industrial sources and recommends mitigation measures through architectural upgrades and sound barrier installations.
For industrial developments, a noise impact study incorporates the measurement of sound levels at the source, as well as manufacturers’ sound data and predicted levels to produce a noise map of the site to compare propagated sound levels against guideline requirements. Any excess will determine the mitigation solutions required – from silencers, to enclosures, to barriers.

Noise from HVAC and other mechanical equipment can cause a disturbance in our home, work and other environments. This noise can be transmitted through the air or the structure of the building. The transmission methods often determine the type of mitigation concepts we will provide – from vibration isolation to silence specification to noise masking. We offer measurement and mitigation concepts to make your life more comfortable.
